The University of Pennsylvania releases its new research on how to maximize pig welfare through genetic techniques. Through this, researchers have come up with a tool that will measure the level of animal welfare on farms.
Moreover, it is set to measure the levels of stress hormone in the blood and the length of telomeres in a pig’s life. With this, the group built a trial facility to determine the characteristics of a certain animal.
Lastly, the said research paves the way for the industry to improve the security of animal welfare in the country.
