A team of researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) develops an augmentation of nature by combining the lifeform of a plant and a machine.
Introducing the Elowan, researchers say that plants send signals through tissues and organs when bio-electrochemically executed. Moreover, these signals can be classified as a response to:
- Changes in light
- Gravity
- Mechanical Stimulation
- Temperature
- Injury
- And, many more.
Furthermore, researchers summarize that the symbiotic interplay of plants powered with artificial intelligence could lead to improved plant nutrition, growth frameworks, and defense mechanisms.
