A startup company from Ireland raised a $1.8 million seed funding to closely monitor beehives using the Internet-of-Things technology.
As bee colonies showed a 38% decrease in 2016, ApisProtect plans to expand its operations in the United States to protect the said species.
Furthermore, the company utilizes six ApisMonitor sensors to collect and send data to the rightful software platform every four hours. With this, the technology can detect if unnecessary events happen inside the beehive.
Lastly, it aims to encourage beekeepers to maximize pollination and yield.
