At the 2018 TC Disrupt Berlin Battlefield the Indian agtech startup Imago AI presented its latest ambitions. It is to use Artificial Intelligence to help increase global crop yields and reduce food waste. The New Delhi based company uses computer vision and machine learning technology to fully automate measuring crop traits. In this way it is possible to develop higher-yielding and more disease-resistant crop varieties. Nowadays companies need around seven years to develop a new seed variety. Imago IA claims the technology can reduce time to measure crop traits by at up to 75 percent.
