A bean breeder from the University of Zambia aims to develop beans that are resistant to bean weevil. This is after weevil larvae were found to settle in seed pods that can cause infection to the bean crops. Moreover, said study would help farmers in seed storage and would avoid health risks when using chemical-induced pesticides.
