Scientists at the Bharathiar University have isolated a fungus that can enhance plant growth in water deficit conditions. The researchers are engaged in studying the ecology of soil microbes of plant roots.
In a test, the research team noticed better growth parameters in potted tomato plants treated with the fungus N. haematococcaculture.
The team is working on a bioformulation that could be used for a wide range of crops and plants.
